BAHRAIN METRO RAIL PROJECT
Bahrain Metro Rail Project, also known as the Bahrain light rail transit network. This project is proposed by public transport of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The entire metro rail network will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (Kingdom of Bahrain).
Implementation of the project is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2019, according to the advisor of the Minister of Transport and Communications for Roads.

Bahrain Metro consists of Corridor 1 and Corridor 2 which is called as Phase 1. Total network length is 29Km along with 20 Stations, incl. 2 interchange stations (Bab al Bahrain and Al Farooq Junction). The LRT network system has been designed to carry 43000 passengers per hour.
Red Line - Corridor 1, the network will be implemented from Bahrain International Airpor to Seef Mall through 9 stations in this line, crossing through the diplomatic area. The total length of the corridor is 13km with 9 stations.
Blue Line - Corridor 2, the network will be implemented from Juffair to Isa Town, through 11 stations in this line. The total length of the corridor is 15.6km with 9 stations.
Bahrain Light Metro Rail Project is part of Bahrain's Public Transport, which is Vision of 2030. So the target to complete in by 2030.
The Kingdom is looking to diversify its economy and attract foreign investment, including investments by private partners to finance the public transportation initiative.
