Is anybody awake? Choose life!

The fifth Global Security Week, which was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly, was held in the period from 6 to 12 May 2019 around the world.

The campaign's focus was on the traffic safety leaders / ambassadors needed to achieve global goals, including the drive to reduce traffic accidents and victims.

According to the mentioned goals, on Saturday, May 11, 2019, there was organized a preventive action to alert the danger of trespassing at Oranice / Vrapčak, for pedestrians and cyclists, entitled "Is anybody awake? Choose Life!".

This trespassing was chosen because:

• every 20 seconds on average, one person crosses the rail track

• only every 16th person uses a regular underpass along the Oranice street

• the train passes on average every 3 minutes

• when crossing, the users of trespassing, in 13% use mobile phones and handset, and 10% of them have a bike

The action was supported by the Railway Alliance, Robert Kelemen from the Vatra group and the young artist of the Academy of Fine Arts, Hana Khan, who painted the graphite during the action.

Safety is the most important factor in traffic, but also the one that is most vulnerable. The moment of insecurity or speed can lead to terrible consequences.

We are all responsible. The action supported life and security of all traffic participants!
